The Mattioli Story
Hi,
I worked in a pizzeria when I was (much) younger, and learned some tricks to making great pizzas. I decided that someday I would open my own pizza restaurant and share those great pizzas with others. I told Laurie of my vision and since we have both shared the dream. Well, it's taken quite some time to get here and many things have changed in the pizza industry, but one thing that hasn't changed is our desire and ability to make great pizzas and other dishes for you. Laurie's paternal grandmother was born in Italy and her maiden name was Mattioli. Laurie thought that would be a perfect name for our pizzeria and she was correct. What a great name! We believe that her grandmother would be pleased to have her name associated with our delicious food. We took a trip to Italy in the fall of 2007 and ate pizza everywhere we went. Besides enjoying the pizza, it helped us define how we would make our Italian-style pizzas. While there, I took tons of photos and several of them are hanging in the restaurant. Just ask and we can tell you where each photo was taken.
Our Italian-style pizza has a thin crust and our raw tomato sauce which is very similar to what you would get in Italy. Our American-style pizza has a thicker crust with our traditional pizza sauce. We offer both styles to satisfy the different tastes of our customers. We are also developing new and exciting products, like our fabulous Mattioli Meatballs and our plump and juicy chicken wings. We're Mike and Laurie Bevan, and we love pizza! We even have a small commercial pizza oven in our home. We love making pizzas and knowing how much everyone enjoys them.
We make our own dough and red sauces from recipes we developed through lots of testing. And you know what that means - we had to bake and taste literally hundreds of pizzas! We knew exactly how our pizzas should look and taste, and we kept at it until they were perfect. We also learned that not everyone likes the thin crust of Italian-style pizza, and since we make our pizzas for you we make them in two different styles: Italian-style and American-style.
